14th International Riversymposium
Island Arks Symposium
Sustainable use of island ecosystems requires strong inter-disciplinary knowledge bases including terrestrial and marine ecology, coastal engineering, fire ecology, invasive species management, waste management, communication and marketing, and environmental economics.
The Island Arks Symposium aims to bring together practitioners in these disciplines to identify, discuss and resolve management challenges; identifying pathways for long-term conservation of island ecosystems including sustainable use.

Queensland Landcare Conference 2009
Hosted by Desert Channels Queensland and six local Landcare groups, the Queensland Landcare Conference will showcase land and water management practices involving everything from water wise gardens, the control of woody and exotic weeds, to feral animal control and the rehabilitation of our natural water courses.
The Program consists of plenary sessions with keynote presentations by well known industry representatives, field trips and has an extensive social program designed to incorporate everything the conference theme entails: Legends, Larrikins and Landcare.

The Nutrition Edge workshop - EDGEnetwork
Nutrition - a production tool just waiting to be used. The Nutrition EDGE workshop gives you a comprehensive look at ruminant nutrition. It will assist you to better match your pasture and feed options to your livestock needs. This EDGEnetwork workshop helps you to:
- Determine the nutritional requirements of your livestock
- Estimate the feed value of your pasture and the production of your livestock
- Find the balance between your pasture growth, pasture use and animal production
- Make management decisions that consider different seasonal conditions
- Know what supplements to feed
- Save money on supplementary and drought feeding
- Understand a feed product table and know what questions to ask feed companies

17th World Hydrogen Energy Conference
The conference will provide extensive networking opportunities to delegates and deliver the most relevant information on all matters concerning hydrogen and fuel cell technology. The WHEC2008 will cover a wide range of technical issues; from how hydrogen is safely produced, stored, transported and utilised to broader topics such as environment, education and regulatory developments.
The Mathematics of Water Supply & Pricing
This 3-day long event will consist of a short course, invited lectures and contributed talks on the mathematics of water supply and pricing.
The topics likely to be addressed will be: Water trading, pricing models, demand forecasting, risk management, network modelling and management, monitoring water quality, network optimisation and water economics.
Goals of the event are to:
- Present recent developments on mathematics and statistics applied to water management with emphasis on water markets
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and industry linkages
- Promote industry development
