Grazing Land Management Workshop - EDGEnetwork
The Grazing Land Management workshop will develop your understanding of the various factors that interact in the rangeland regions or Northern Australia to develop grazing management strategies to increase profit and sustainability.
Attending this workshop will assist you to:
* Assess the condition of your paddocks and improve their carry capacity
* Understand the relationships between water, soils, woodlands, biodiversity, fire and weeds
* Determine which sown pastures are suited to your property
* Meet target markets while remaining sustainable in the long-term
* Determine the financial implications of grazing management options.
| Environmental Reporting Tool |

| SafeGauge software version 1.1.4 - pesticide use risk management tool |
|---|
SafeGauge is a software application that assesses the potential risk for pesticide contamination of surface water and groundwater resulting from on-farm pesticide use. It has been developed specifically for use in the Queensland sugarcane industry. The system integrates soil hydrology, climatic records and site management practices with pesticide properties, to predict the risk of pesticides moving off-site and potentially entering water bodies. It does not assess risks to flora or fauna in the water body or the risks to human health. |
| Grain & Graze - e-newsletter | The Grain & Graze program aims to boost farm profitability across the mixed farming zone of southern Australia, while helping to protect the environment. Our research focuses on cropping, pastures, livestock, profitability, feedbase management, whole-farm economics, biodiversity, social issues, soil and water. |

World Sustainable Building Conference (SB08)
SB08 Melbourne will continue a traditional focus on technical developments and case studies. CSIRO (Australia's national research organisation), leading universities and research groups in Australia and from around the world, are all expected to release new research.
How well the research community interacts with industry and government has a significant impact on the speed of technology transfer and adoption of sustainable development concepts and technologies. A high level of engagement will guarantee that communities can enjoy liveable, viable and connected built environments through generations.
SB08 has a multifaceted program that builds strong and effective linkages across stakeholder groups to advance sustainability knowledge and practice through market and industry transformation. Site visits of leading-edge Australian commercial, residential and industrial developments are planned.
