Australian Society of Agronomy 14th Biennial Conference - Global Issues, Paddock Action

Australian agronomists will address the big challenges facing agriculture - including climate change and variability, uncertainty over energy supplies and resource use efficiency, at their 14th conference in Adelaide in 2008.

Bill Bellotti, President of the Australian Society of Agronomy, said the conference theme, “Global Issues – Paddock Action”, signalled an intention focus on the role of agronomy in addressing these challenges at the paddock, farm and catchment levels.

“More than ever in these difficult and dry times, the research, extension, government and farm sectors need to work hand in hard to address the ongoing issues of water and resource scarcity,” Dr Bellotti said.
